Black ocellaris Project

These are a black variant of Amphiprion ocellaris.
Here is one of my bonded pairs, captive bred themselves, and soon to be spawning!



We snagged these larvae from a kind friend's tank, where the nest of her black ocellaris pair were just hatching.  These larvae (below) are 5 days old, and you can see their fat bellies and beginnings of a white headband.

These fish are almost 7 weeks old and are already acquiring black fins and darkening scales. By contrast, orange ocellaris only get black trim on their fins, and not until a month or two later.
